Frequently Asked Questions

You've got questions...umm, we've got answers. If you find that the answer you are seeking isn't listed, please contact us.

General

What does SockHodler Sell?

SockHodler sells premium crypto-styled socks.  Additionally, we are creating physically-backed NFTs paired with socks that use Nearfield Communication to load data from the blockchain.

Do you sell anything other than socks?

We also offer standalone collectible NFT collections that showcase art from partnerships as well as SockHodler Originals.

Maybe if y'all are good, we can start carrying other apparel such as t-shirts, hoodies, and dare we say, sneakers.

What are your sizes for the socks?

Our standard sizes for socks are 6-12M or 7-13W. We also have plans to sell children's socks (4-11)

How are the socks made?

We use a Dye Sublimation process that applies ink directly to the fabric. The designs are not sewn on.

As such, when the socks are stretched or worn, there may be some underlying fabric that is visible.

My socks aren't aligned at the edges. Is this a misprint?

There are some technical limitations with the printing of dye-sublimation socks. Due to this, sometimes there will be a slight misalignment on the sides. We do our best to avoid this, and follow standard procedures for the printing process.

What are your socks made of?

Our socks are made from polyester with a cotton toe and heel. Polyester allows the ink to bond to the fabric in the Dye Sublimation process.

Payments

What do you accept for payment?

We currently accept USD, Visa, Mastercard, and Crypto (Algorand, Bitcoin, Ethereum). We have plans to incorporate $SOCKS Token rewards redemptions for specific collections as well in 2022.

My transaction failed, who do I contact?

Send us an email at sockmaster@sockhodler.com with the subject line "Failed Transaction", and we will look into it.

Do you accept Crypto?

Yep, we accept Algorand, Bitcoin, and Ethereum at the moment. We will also be incorporating $SOCKS Token rewards redemptions in 2022.

I want to pay with a cryptocurrency that isn't listed.

Shoot us an email and we can chat first.

How do I redeem my $SOCKS Token rewards?

We are starting to build out the functionality for our rewards program. Our Roadmap is a great resource to see where we are currently at. At this time, $SOCKS Tokens have no utility, but an announcement will be made when we are ready to accept orders with $SOCKS Tokens.

Orders & Shipping

How long does my order take to ship?

Our production turn-around time is 4-7 days and all orders are shipped out the following day.
For continental US orders, please allow 3-5 days for shipping.
For international orders, please allow 14 days for shipping.

Where can I view tracking information?

After the order of socks are shipped, you will receive a shipment tracking information email with an expected date of arrival.

What is your return policy?

We will accept returns within 15 days of the original purchase date. Socks must be in their original packaging in order to qualify for a return. Sadly, socks that have been worn will not qualify for a return.

NFT

What is an NFT?

An NFT stands for Non-Fungible Token which is a unique piece of data that can be stored on Blockchains. The tokens we sell happen to be artwork, but it can be anything from a word document to a deed to a house. By creating a non-fungible token, you are essentially writing to a public ledger that you own something at a certain period of time.

NFTs can be sold, resold, and traded. The ownership is updated with each transaction on the blockchain. NFTs are a great way to establish provenance to a collector's item rather than trusting a 3rd party to authenticate what you own.

Essentially, we are selling socks that have an NFC chip in them and link directly to the blockchain from the physical item. The tags cannot easily be removed without damage, and the corresponding NFT proves that what you own is indeed authentic.

How do I redeem NFTs?

When you use your smart phone to read the socks, you will be redirected to our website and a window will popup with a button to redeem the NFT. This will redirect you to a special form where we will process the request. Please allow 24 hrs for us to process.

Eventually, we will be adding in the functionality to auto-redeem when a QR code is scanned from a physical redemption card.

Can I buy Crypto Socks without NFTs?

Sure thing. Want to dip your toes in the water? Grab one of our Base Collection socks. They are tag-less and at a lower price point. They make great gifts.

How can I view the NFT?

You can follow the address to AlgoExplorer, and you may view the listing on RandGallery or NFTExplorer.app by connecting your wallet to the interface.

Why do I need an NFT?

That's completely up to you. Many of us see the value that NFTs bring to both the physical and digital realm. If you like crypto and dislike NFTs, don't you worry...we still love you. Grab a pair of our Base Collection socks and those will be NFT-less and Tag-Less.

Why isn't the NFT on the Ethereum Blockchain?

Gas fees are just too damn high. Not only is Algorand super cheap to transact on, it is also blazing fast and incredibly secure. Trust us...It just works.

FYI, transactions on Algorand generally cost a penny or less.

NFC

What is NFC?

NFC Tags are a contact-less technology that allows for encrypted communication between an NFC-Enabled Device (such as smartphones) and apparel over short distances.

My phone won't load up the NFT. What do I do?

First, make sure that your smart phone is capable of using Nearfield Communication. Most newer phones are.
Second, make sure that you aren't in low power mode. NFC is one of the first things turned off to preserve battery life.

If the above instructions do not work, send us an email at sockmaster@sockhodler.com with the subject line "NFT Troubleshooting".
